VTL, a leading SME network and provider of pan-European logistics services, is committed to the issue of sustainable logistics within its entire general freight operation. As the first network of SME cargo companies to do so, VTL is cooperating here with the Institute for Sustainability in Transportation and Logistics (INVL) at Heilbronn University.<\/p>\n
\u201cWorking in conjunction with the INVL, we\u2019re looking to precisely refine the more complex sustainability challenges that face a networked transport system in order to define holistic practical advantages for our clients and partners,\u201d explains Andreas J\u00e4schke, CEO of VTL Vernetzte-Transport-Logistik GmbH. \u201cThe work with INVL, which we started last year, is an important component for us in the development of our sustainable transportation and logistics solutions.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n The advantages to be achieved are also shown by the latest INVL study, \u2018Green Logistics\u2019, which was recently presented by the German Hauliers and Logistics Association (DSLV). \u201cWe want to refine the issue of Green Logistics for networked transportation systems,\u201d confirms Professor Dirk Lohre, Principal of the INVL. \u201cThe collaboration with VTL is part of our research and consultancy work on the topic of \u2018Sustainability \u2013 Transportation \u2013 Logistics\u2019.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n VTL and INVL are currently working on a strategy concept that shows, using reference depots, operational solutions with lower direct and indirect emissions and at the same time is intended to propose concrete compensatory options.<\/p>\n
