In mid-December, VTL Vernetzte-Transport-Logistik GmbH hosted the QM–Dispo–Service network meeting in Fulda. Network partners from all over Germany and parts of Europe came together to discuss current developments in logistics and advance joint future topics in the general cargo network. In addition to technical input, the CargoFamily meeting also offered ample opportunity for personal exchange and a wide range of networking opportunities.
A key component of the event was a practical lecture on quality management, which provided participants with concrete ideas for their daily work. In the subsequent moderated group discussions, participants dealt intensively with the topics of scheduling, service, IT, quality management and the optimisation of the VTL manual.
This year, there was a particular focus on digitalisation, communication and cooperation within the network. The aim of the meeting was to critically reflect on existing processes and develop them further together. Against this backdrop, the cooperation is striving for even closer collaboration in the current year – including through topic-specific training courses, workshops and working groups. Cross-divisional work on joint projects is intended to strengthen and advance the network in the long term.
There are also plans to optimise reporting in order to offer additional added value to the freight forwarding partners of the general cargo cooperation in the future. The aim is to increase transparency and create a sound basis for decision-making for continuous further development.
The participants emphasised that personal exchange, cooperation on equal terms, mutual appreciation and respect form the basis for successful cooperation and make the VTL CargoFamily a partnership-based network. In addition to partnership, high quality awareness, strong communication skills and service orientation are also considered key success factors for the VTL network.
