(Fulda, 11 December 2025) – The general cargo cooperation VTL Vernetzte-Transport-Logistik GmbH has further expanded the infrastructure at its central hub in Fulda and put a new trailer parking area directly on the company premises into operation. With this expansion, the company is improving its goods handling processes and laying the foundation for even more efficient logistics processes.

‘Efficiency in handling begins as soon as the truck drives onto the company premises. The new trailer parking area with 35 spaces ensures shorter distances and resource-saving processes,’ explains Managing Director Markus Egerer. As preloaded trailers can now be positioned closer to the handling area, manoeuvring distances are shortened, downtimes are reduced and loading and unloading processes are accelerated.

Optimised routing relieves processes and the environment

Previously, the parking area was located outside the company premises, which required longer journeys. The reduced distances not only lead to noticeable time savings, but also to lower fuel consumption and thus lower CO₂ emissions. At the same time, the gate is freed up more quickly, further reducing waiting times in the transhipment operation.

Further development for the requirements of modern logistics

With its new trailer parking area, VTL is setting an example for an efficient and well-designed logistics infrastructure. The demands placed on modern transport chains are constantly increasing. That is why VTL is continuously developing its facilities and processes. ‘“Our goal is to provide our forwarding partners with reliable, fast and well-structured cargo handling — for maximum efficiency and stability in daily operations’, emphasises Egerer.
