No greenwashing – but economics, social sustainability and environmental protecting

845_6_zertifikatsuebergabeVTL Vernetzte-Transport-Logistik GmbH is the first network of SME transport companies to present its TÜV-certified Network Carbon Footprint, NCF for short, at this year’s transport logistic. The ISO 14064:2006 certificate was handed to Andreas Jäschke, Managing Director of VTL, by Hans-Hermann Üffing, Managing Director of TÜV Rheinland LGA Products GmbH, at the Heilbronn University and the Baden-Württemberg Logistic Network stand.

This certificate certifies that VTL is not using Green Logistics as an advertising or PR coup, but as a means of ensuring its economic success and that VTL simultaneously takes its responsibility for protecting the environment seriously.

VTL determined its NCF over a period of 9 month in collaboration with the Heilbronn University Institute for Sustainability in Transportation and Logistics (INVL). To do so, VTL founded the Green Logistics working group in 2010, which developed and tested all of the data collection methods and instruments before distributing them to all of VTL’s depots. The working group participants are the reference partners: Gericke & Co. GmbH, Hintzen Logistik GmbH, Spedition Hoss GmbH & Co. KG, Jos. Rux Spedition GmbH & Co. KG, Kontinent Spedition GmbH, Kraftverkehr Emsland GmbH, Loxx Logistik & Spedition GmbH, Ludwig Häberle Logistik GmbH und die Richard Müller GmbH & Co. KG.
