Logistics is more than just transporting goods from A to B. Logistics is multifaceted and also system-relevant. In Germany, more than 3 million people work in logistics and ensure a reliable supply of goods every day. The nationwide “Tag der Logistik” (Logistics Day) was launched in 2008 by the German Logistics Association (BVL) to make the logistics sector more visible to the public and to draw attention to its importance for society. Companies have always opened their doors to the public on this day of action and provide insights into the exciting tasks and diverse job profiles of logistics.

Experience logistics live: What does a general cargo cooperative do? How does a hub & spoke system work? How are goods handled? What job and development opportunities does the company offer? VTL answered these and many other questions for its guests on “Tag der Logistik” on 20 April 2023. VTL offered a public guided tour of the company to draw attention to the relevance of goods handling and the special function of the industry.
